So yesterday was my first day of officially starting to work at Canterbury. Mind that I’ve worked there summer and such before. This is just my first time having an afterschool job there. It was a bloody cold day and I was lucky to even get to go. I’d been sick all of last week and I had to miss Monday which was really supposed to be my first day. Anyways, when me and Kissick got there we hung out for a few minutes before we had to start working. I found out one of the barn horses, Stellar, was bought by one of our riders named Jennifer. I feel bad for Alyssa because she really likes him though. So work starts and the first thing to do is tack up Junior for a new rider. Easy enough, but Sandy wasn’t ready to start giving the girl her lesson so Kissick and I were in charge of starting her out. She wasn’t the greatest kid we’ve worked with before, but she was pretty responsive to the things she needed to do so it wasn’t too bad. After that I was sent off to go hay the horses so with over seventy horses, it was a long job. I had help with one of the barn, but other than that I had to wheelbarrow the hay bales all over the frozen, bumpy ground which was not too fun. I got it done though. After that Renee taught me how to drive the bobcat. That was definitely exciting. After I figured it out, I drove through the barn and picked up all the piles outside of the stalls and then dumped them out in the field. So that was pretty much my day. Oh, and when I went to go check on Chloe I found that someone took her braids out and her dreadlocks are right back where they started out!
